How to Hire Us

It's as simple as this. Send us an e-mail - written in legible English - and let us know what you need. Below are a few questions we will ask so you will know beforehand what answers to give. Then send us money as an incentive to get started!

Questions for you:

  • What do you want from your web site?
  • What do you need from your web site?
  • What do you expect from your web site?
  • What kind of impression do you want to make?
  • What will your web site be about?
  • Do you currently have a web site? If so, does it need a makeover? What is the URL*?
  • Do you currently own a domain? If so, what is the URL*? If you don't own a domain, we can register one for you.
  • Is your domain hosted? If so, we will need the login/FTP* information from your web hosting company.
  • Do you need hosting? If so, we can suggest a few great companies, depending on what the web site will require. We can set that up for you as well.
  • Do you have an idea for the style/colors/layout of the web site?
  • Do you have any images you want to use?
  • Do you have the text to describe your products or business? This is where your involvement comes in. We don't make up content to put on web sites. You will need to supply us with the content since no one knows you/your business/target audience like you do. We can help, but we could be wrong and that would be bad!
  • Do you have any more questions? Use this handy e-mail link to send them to us!

How all this works:

  • After you contact us and give us answers to the above questions, we will give you a quote ($).
  • Then once we have come to an agreement on the price ($), you will send us a 50% down payment of the quoted price and we will get started by
    • registering a domain (if necessary) and
    • setting up hosting (if necessary). Those costs will be covered in the initial down payment.
    • creating a mockup of the initial design in Photoshop based on the information and any images you give us. If you don't like it, we will change it to your specifications - twice. If the changes to the design include more than 50% the first time and 25% the second time, then it becomes apparent that we're not communicating properly and things will become frustrating from this point on for everyone involved. But this won't happen, will it!? See the 'Regarding refunds' section below.
  • After the design is agreed upon, we will create the template and individual web pages. These will be hosted on our web site until we receive the remaining 50% of the cost of the site. After payment is received, we will transfer the files to your server and the site is all yours!

Regarding future changes:

  • If it is an oversight on our part, of course we will change that at no cost.
  • If it is a change you want - adding or removing images and/or text or adding more features - we will quote you a price. We can quote a flat price for a one-time change or work up an agreement for ongoing maintenance. It's painless, don't worry!

Regarding refunds:

  • If we fail to come to an agreement on the site design, then we will refund your money MINUS any cost of domain registration and hosting.
    • Any domains paid for us by us - belong to us. Domains paid for you by you - belong to you. The same goes for hosting.
    • All material created by us - belongs to us unless and until it is paid for.
  • If you like our design, but don't like us, then in order to keep the design and fire us, we keep the down payment and you keep the design. But we get along with everyone so there shouldn't be a problem!

For those of you who don't already know, we can be a little technical at times, so please forgive us in advance!
A URL is the web address of a web site. The URL of this web site is http://www.DevilishByDesign.com.
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. This is how to get the files on the server.
